Sif is a rustic high table made from robust planks of upcycled wood. The harmony between the robust wood and the weathered patina of the planks and their historic details bring warmth and soul to any space. Due to the wood’s unique qualities, the table can be used inside and out.
The wood is certified FSC Recycled 100% and verified free for chemicals.
The table is tailor-made for you, in your preferred dimensions and with the surface that you have chosen (see more under Surfaces.) When we make your table, we carefully choose planks that go well together. The planks are hand sanded, will great respect for the wood, its unique patina and the historic details.
Sif high tables are made with wooden legs. The legs are cut from the outer edge of the pillars and therefore include many rustic details, and often a hole. The legs are carefully chosen to suit the look of the planks. For widths up to 100 cm, the tables are made with a single wooden leg. Wider tables are made with double wooden legs.
Due to the wood’s strength and density, the table is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. If placed outdoors and exposed to sun, the wood’s surface will change over time and become a silver grey colour. See examples of this here.
The table requires minimum maintenance. Due to the naturally high content of oil in the wood, the furniture does not need any surface treatment, whether it is used inside or out. Download our guide here.
The surface of the table is organic, so the best was to keep it clean on a daily basis is by using a little hand brush og vacuum cleaner.
If you have particular preferences as regards the wood’s expression, then you are welcome to contact us. This is also relevant if you would like a different length to the ones available here. We are always keen to listen to your preferences and do what we can to deliver, if the raw material available allows us to do so.
You are also welcome to come and see examples at one of our products at one of our showrooms where it is possible to see the unique wood.
Sif can be made with either sanded or rustic surface. The surface finish that we call sanded refers to planks that have been cut from inside the large pillars where they have been protected where rustic planks are cut from the outer, weathered layer. Therefore, rustic planks contain more historic details than sanded.
The amount of authentic rustic details in the planks can be defined as small, medium and large. All planks are sanded by hand to preserve as many historic details as possible.
See more information and examples of the different surfaces here.
