Idun is made from reclaimed azobé wood from decommisioned Danish harbours.
The density and strength of the wood makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. When placed outdoors and exposed to sunlight, the wood’s surface will change over time and become a silver grey colour. See examples of this here.
The table requires minimum maintenance. Because of the wood’s natural oils, no wood treatment is necessary, regardless of whether it is placed inside or out.

Idun can be made with either sanded or rustic surface.
The surface finish that we call sanded refers to planks that have been cut from inside the large pillars, where they have been protected. Rustic planks are cut from the outer, weathered layer. Therefore, rustic planks contain more historic details than sanded.
The amount of authentic rustic details in the planks can be defined as small, medium and large. All planks are sanded by hand to preserve as many historic details as possible.
