Sanded Azobé planks are cut from the inside of the large pillars we collect in the Danish harbours and machine sanded. It is possible to see some historic details in these planks too, as they can also contain small holes from the time in the harbour. In some cases, these small holes can be filled with wooden plugs and sanded to ensure a smoother surface. Sanded planks can become more rustic over time, as the wood dries. Small cracks can appear, but are not seen as a fault, but more a desired effect, confirming the authenticity of the wood. The pictures that you see here are examples of sanded surfaces, and some of the details they can include.
